Joysemble · last updated 9 August 2026
Joysemble is a party-game app for people in the same room. It has no accounts, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking of any kind. This page describes everything it stores and why.
What Joysemble collects
| Data | Why | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|
| A display name you type when joining a room | So the other players know whose turn it is and who they are voting for | Everyone in that room |
| Your chosen language | To show you the game in your own language | Everyone in that room |
| An anonymous ID generated on your device | To keep your seat in a room across a reconnect. It is not linked to an email address, phone number, or any account | Nobody — it is used internally |
| Room activity: the room code, when you joined, whether you are currently connected, and your moves in the game | To run the game | Everyone in that room, except private game content such as your secret word |
Joysemble does not collect your real name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, or advertising identifiers. It does not use cookies for tracking.
Camera
Joysemble can use your camera to scan a room's QR code so you can join without typing. The camera is used only while that scanner is open, images are processed on your device, and no photo or video is ever stored or transmitted. You can always join by typing the room code instead, and you can decline the camera permission with no loss of function.
Where the data lives, and for how long
Room data is stored using Google Firebase Realtime Database on servers in Singapore. Google processes it on our behalf as our service provider; see the Firebase privacy information.
A room exists only while it is being used. It is deleted when the last player leaves. Rooms are short-lived by design — there is no history, no saved game archive, and no profile that persists between parties. Your language preference is stored only on your own device.
Children
Joysemble is not directed at children under 13. Because players type their own display names, we ask that younger players use the app with an adult present.
Your choices
- Leaving a room removes your player entry from it.
- Deleting the app removes the anonymous ID and your stored language preference from your device.
- To ask about data associated with a room, contact us at the address below. Because Joysemble has no accounts, please include the room code and the time of the party so we can find it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we will update the date at the top of this page.
